Ahead of D23 Expo Mice Age Reveal More about Star Wars and Marvel Lands

There won't be a lot of posts this week on D&M - but you can as always follow me on the D&M Facebook page, and this is because you'll have a lot of posts this week-end related to the D23 Expo!
That said, thanks to our friends of Mice Age we have some fresh news about what can be expected to be announced ( or not ) but let's start first by the bad news: according to Entertainment Weekly no new Star Wars: The Force Awakens trailer or footage will be shown at Disney’s D23 fan convention this weekend, so this new shot above of the "New Order" revealed in a SW7 Korean trailer might be the only new one you'll see before this fall.

SW7will be of course part of the presentation of live-action films, but it will not feature new clips, has learned EW from a reliable source. And although Lucasfilm Comic-Con panel last July had no trailer too but featured a behind-the-scenes video D23 fans shouldn't see sections of the movie.
And for doubters, EW reveal their “reliable source who is no one else than J.J Abrams, who said to EW : “It is true, we are showing no footage, behind the scenes or otherwise. In the fall, there’ll be a trailer. We’re thrilled to go to D23 and meet the fans, but it’s a tricky thing to try and rush [footage] for a convention or preexisting event that would, of course, be fun to show something at,” Abrams said.

Expect a lot of "boos" during the Star Wars panel as i doubt that fans will be happy about that...

Now for the good news. It's now almost 100% sure that a Star Wars Land announcement will happen at D23 Expo and Mice Age tells us more about what to expect and where kit is now sure to be placed inside Disneyland. They even released the map below and the best is to jump to today's Mice Chat report HERE in which you'll also have news of what Disney is gonna do with some new lands outside the parks bought not too long ago.

Note that /Film has also posted HERE a post about Star War land mainly taking excerpts from the Mice Age article, but with a different Mice Age "Star Wars Land" map which don't include Toon Town. You have the two maps above and below and we'll see soon which one is the closest to reality but if they don't keep at least half of Toon Town as it was rumored before that means you can say good-bye to everything including the Roger Rabitt ride...

According to Mice Age report, the rides and shows for the new Star Wars land are being developed in “a top secret Imagineering lab in Glendale with Imagineers signing extra confidentiality agreements because the plotlines and characters are pulled from the next three episodes in the Star Wars saga and the Lucasfilm folks understandably guard that information with their lives.”

Although no one has details /FIlm has heard that the recent "Legends Of Frontierland experience" was a test for the Star Wars land plans:  "Imagineers want to introduce an interactive Cantina experience where your story continues through the rides and throughout the land. Imagine being the rebel spy on Star Tours, later seeing your mug shot on “wanted” signs around Star Tours Land, leading to a possible confrontation with a bounty hunter at the Cantina?"

Also, as expected, "more Star Wars will be added to Tomorrowland this year, with Innoventions reopening planned to open by Veteran’s Day weekend in November with a version of the Star Wars Launch Bay interactive museum which was recently announced for Shanghai Disneyland, plus a specially-produced Star Wars: The Force Awakens movie preview at the Captain EO theater, which will run through January 2016."

And of course there is these consistent rumors that new Force Awakens segments will be added to the available trips of Star Tours: The Adventures Continue.

We're not done yet as there is also more about the awaited Marvel land expected to be build at Disney's California Adventure. The rumored new land would be part of the announced one billion dollar plus addition to Disneyland resort and, MiceChat also have an update on Disney’s plans for a Marvel-themed land filled with super-heroes rides:

"The plans to expand DCA again with a Marvel Land behind Tower of Terror continue to move ahead, and the E Ticket thrill ride that is planned to anchor that expansion is going to be very unique. The ride will feature a newly Imagineered hybrid ride system that might be best described as a combination of Rock N’ Roller Coaster and Universal’s Transformers ride using every trick and gimmick WDI can throw at it, including on-board audio and effects and elaborate sets and animatronics. With the Pumbaa parking structure moving quickly, the old toll plaza entry lanes south of DCA that are used to redirect cars from Mickey & Friends can also be utilized, creating a surprisingly large chunk of property slated for DCA’s future expansion."

Mice Chat is saying that the Marvel Land expansion is not expected to be announced at this week’s D23 Expo 2015, but you never know.... Also, this "combination of Rock N’ Roller Coaster and Universal’s Transformers ride using every trick and gimmick WDI can throw at it, including on-board audio and effects and elaborate sets and animatronics” could very well be something like Universal Studios’ Harry Potter’s Escape From Gringotts ride, technologically speaking but we'll have to wait to learn more, especially if there dis no announcement this week-end at D23 Expo. Hey, there is a new D23 Expo in two years so they need to keep something to announce in 2017!

In the meantime jump to Mice Age HERE to learn more about all this and stay tuned on D&M this week-end for a D23 report!
