Sad news from Disneyland as Billy Hill and the Hillbillies will have their last performance on january 6, 2014

Sad news from Disneyland as Billy Hill and the Hillbillies who have been entertaining guests for more than 20 years will have their last performance on january 6, 2014. Don't know yet if it a lay off from the company to save money or if they simply retired. According to Disney Parks blog "future plans for Big Thunder Ranch Jamboree are to feature a variety of entertainment offerings during the seasonal and special celebrations" which so far is just a corporate statement which gives absolutely no indication at all about what will replace Billy Hill and the Hillbillies.

Their show was fun, they are excellent musicians and for me, listening to the music they're playing remind me intently Frontierland, even when i hear this kind of music out of Disneyland! If you've never seen Billy Hill and the Hillbillies here is a video of a full show filmed this year from the first row at the Golden Horseshoe saloon!

Before they say they will be closing down they should let the visitors know what they will be replaced with so they don't feel like they are losing value on the raised admission. Live music at disneyland has always been an added bonus to visit, especially with holidays coming for mom and pop who need a little resting time.
