Jasmine's Flying Carpets opens at Tokyo Disney Sea - Video

I thought that all new attractions for 2011 were opened in Disney theme parks, but no, there was one more to come as Jasmine’s Flying Carpets, one of the new attractions for Tokyo Disney Sea's 10th anniversary just opened July 18! The new ride is located near the Sindbad fortress in the Arabian Coast land. With a total of 16 vehicles and a cost of 2 billion Yen ($22 million) Jasmine’s Flying Carpets "is a ride attraction where guests can soar over Jasmine’s garden on a flying carpet. Guests are able to maneuver their vehicle up and down to a height of 5 meters, and tilt the vehicle forward and backward, as if flying their own magical carpet. This uplifting ride can be enjoyed by all, from young children to adults. Guests can also watch their friends and family on their flying carpet from an elevated viewing deck".

After the Aladdin Magic Carpets ride at WDW Magic Kingdom and at the WDS Toon Studio it is the third version of this ride but Jasmine’s Flying Carpets as you will see on the video below is undeniably the one with the most sophisticated decor. Once again, Tokyo Disney Sea gets the best version! Below, a great video filmed by uranezu.com and you can see plenty of pictures on their site HERE.

That's exactly what I missed when I visited Disney Sea, a Dumbo style attraction!

This is an interesting addition, but am I the only one who thinks it looks plastic given its surroundings? Everything around the attraction is aged and patinaed, while the flying carpet buildings are devoid of any aging at all, it looks odd. I'm not suggesting it needs to look as dramatic as the aging of the facades around it, but some subtle aging would help it fit into the area so much better.

Please note that the picture on the top is a CGI rendering, not a photo of the ride. That's why it doesn't looks to have aging, but i'm sure that in real it doesn't look as "new" as on the rendering.

Are there any nighttime pictures?
Disney parks blogs said that

"Walt Disney Imagineering Creative Director Chuck Ballew says you’ll want to look for what he calls “the most beautiful part of the attraction” – a peacock fan effect on the top of the fountain. The attraction also looks amazing at night, where it comes to life with 15 different color sequences that animate as the carpets travel around the fountain."

I have no love for Dumbo-style spinners, but I agree with Alain that this is the best version of the Magic Carpets. A balcony viewing area is an interesting addition to these rides. I would have preferred little show scenes instead of an accessible balcony. something that you could see only by carpet.

Also, it was difficult to tell in the video, but I assume that is not a real fountain on top of the ride? The waterflow didn't look natural.
